Walton-on-Thames CharityThe Charity is currently governed by a board of up to 15 trustees.
Six of these are nominated by Elmbridge Borough Council. A further twelve are co-opted from people living in the Ancient Parish of Walton, plus one ex officio trustee who is the current vicar of St Mary’s Church in Walton.
Trustees are responsible for the governance of the Charity which includes setting and monitoring plans, key policies and carrying out certain statutory functions. Trustees are unpaid and give their time freely to the Charity
The day to day running of the Charity is entrusted to the Chief Executive and senior managers working together with the staff of the Charity.
The trustees meet monthly as a full board to review and monitor progress, make key decisions and agree future plans for implementation by the staff. Trustees establish sub committees and working groups as and when the need arises.
The trustees are required to produce an annual report and accounts which can be found on the Charity Commission’s website.

The Board of trustees is currently chaired by Mr Chris Sadler who is also a local councillor. The Vice Chairman is currently Mr Barry Cheyne who is also a local councillor. The term of office for both positions is three years.

Chris retired following a career in financial services. He now enjoys skiing and sailing in his spare time
