Once again, Walton on Thames Charity invited isolated elderly residents of Elmbridge to spend Christmas Day at Sherwood House, Walton Charity’s care home. This scheme has now been running for several years. Walton Charity also provides transport for those not able to make it to Sherwood House under their own steam. It’s not often that there is a tea party to celebrate 801 years! A year after the Charity’s 800th year the stitch work that formed part of the exhibition has found a permanent home at Mayfield. All those involved in the project were invited to view the stitch work and enjoy tea and cakes. The Mayor of Elmbridge attended and spoke of the importance of local Charity and community.
