Welfare + Benefits

Some of the original component parts of what now make up Walton-on-Thames Charity were bequests that provide relief for local people in need.

Whilst in the past this took the form of buckets of coal and fabric to make clothes, the spirit of this continues in the Charity’s commitment to help local people in need and to enable them to improve their quality of life.

However we are now much more focused on working with people and enabling to make lasting changes to their lives.

The Charity aims to:

  • Provide one off support and assistance for individuals who are enduring times of hardship
  • Provide support and assist individuals and communities in identifying and pursuing routes out of poverty
  • Increase access to an improved quality of life for local people

We aim to do this through:

  • Benefit grants for individuals
  • Welfare benefits advice for older people
  • Working in partnership with other community and statutory agencies

Here are some comments from people we have worked with:

I am so grateful! Its eased the pressure of getting school clothes for my children. I have no family in this area to help us, so thank you so much! Every little helps!

Just to say a very big thank you for helping me out in my difficult time. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
