Who’s who

Jackie Lodge is the Chief Executive of the Charity who took up her post in June 2008. She has overall responsibility for the management of the Charity and its resources, staff and services. The Chief Executive reports directly to the board of trustees. Jackie previously worked for the British Heart Foundation heading up the UK care and rehabilitation programs and prior to this in a range of management roles with the Age Concern federation.

Colin Money is the Charity’s Director of Resources. His primary responsibilities are for Finance, IT, Land and Property, Business improvement, Communications and Facilities. Since arriving in the UK 8 years ago, Colin has worked in a similar position for a number of Charities, including the Children’s Cancer Charity CLIC Sargent. His last was the Bat Conservation Trust. He has over 30 years finance experience through working for Financial Institutions and latterly running his own Company Turnaround Consultancy. He is a member of the Charities Finance Group

Nigel Lucas is the Charity’s Director of Residential Services. He is responsible for the Charity’s Housing and quality assurance for housing and care operations. Nigel has worked for both for a Local Authority and large housing association. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Janice Street is the Schemes Manager for the sheltered accommodation. She has responsibility for overseeing the day to day running of the two sheltered accommodation houses and working with potential new residents.

Jo is the manager of our Care Home, Sherwood House. She has worked in Health and Social Care since November 1999. She is a registered manager RMA, qualified since 2001 working within the Charity and Private sector. She is also a qualified trainer.

Alan Best heads up the Charity’s capital maintenance team.




The maintenance team work to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the Charity’s properties. The team are highly skilled and turn their hand to tasks such as varied as plumbing, fitting kitchens and decorating. They are also on hand to lend a helping hand for residents’ ‘odd jobs’.




Andrea has 20 years experience working in a variety of senior roles in the statutory and voluntary sector and also of grant making for a large national membership organisation. She was recruited to the new position of Community Services Manager in May 2012 to manage the Charity’s small community services and grant making team. Andrea holds a BSc from LSE and a post graduate qualification in management and leadership from Birkbeck College.

Avril Wilcox is the Charity’s Welfare Officer and helps the Charity’s residents and local older people access the benefits to which they are entitled. She is also responsible for recruiting and supporting the Charity’s growing team of volunteers.

Amina Lawson is the Charity’s Grants Officer. Amina administers the Charity’s grant awards for individuals.

Jane McMahon is the Allotment Officer who helps to manage and administer the charity’s allotments working towards a transition of the 4 sites to self management
