Who’s who

Jackie Lodge is the Chief Executive of the Charity who took up her post in June 2008. She has overall responsibility for the management of the Charity and its resources, staff and services. The Chief Executive reports directly to the board of trustees. Jackie previously worked for the British Heart Foundation heading up the UK care and rehabilitation programs and prior to this in a range of management roles with the Age Concern federation.

Nigel Lucas is the Charity’s Director of Residential and Care Services. He is responsible for the Charity’s Housing and care operations. Nigel has worked for both for a Local Authority and large housing association. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Sarath Weerasinghe is the Charity’s Finance Director, responsible for the administration of the Charity’s Finances. Sarath has held a number of senior financial roles in other organizations and lectures in business strategy.




Janice Street is the Schemes Manager for the sheltered accommodation. She has responsibility for overseeing the day to day running of the two sheltered accommodation houses and working with potential new residents.

Kath White is the registered Care Home Manager for Sherwood House. She has overall responsibility for the home and for its day to day running. Kath is a registered nurse and has many years experience of working in both residential and sheltered accommodation.

Gill Chescoe is the Care Services Manager at Sherwood House. She is responsible for managing the care staff and ensuring that residents are well cared for. Gill has worked with the charity for over 20 years.

Alan Best heads up the Charity’s capital maintenance team.




The maintenance team work to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the Charity’s properties. The team are highly skilled and turn their hand to tasks such as varied as plumbing, fitting kitchens and decorating. They are also on hand to lend a helping hand for residents’ ‘odd jobs’.




Avril Wilcox is the Charity’s Welfare Officer and helps the Charity’s residents and local older people access the benefits to which they are entitled. She is also responsible for recruiting and supporting the Charity’s growing team of volunteers.

Amina Lawson is the Charity’s Grants and Allotments Officer. Amina administers the Charity’s benefit awards for individuals and the tenancies for the allotments.
