I’d always been good at figures and wanted to become an accountant.
At the time I approached the Charity I was living at home with my mum and brother. My Mum was recovering from a kidney transplant and I was her carer.
The accountancy course I wanted to take was in London. Mum scraped together enough money to cover my course fees by using her credit card and I helped by working part time in a local garage, but I just didn't have enough money to cover my travel.
Someone mentioned Walton Charity might be able to help, so I rang them. I was blown away when they said they could pay for my travel card. I enrolled on my course straight away!
After completing the course, I'm now working full time in an accountancy firm in my home town, Walton on Thames.
I couldn't have done it without Walton Charity.
