Community Allotment

Walton Charity and P A Housing have partnered to create a Community Allotment at
Terrace Road, Walton on Thames.

The large allotment site, which measures around
40 m x 40 m, is a community project where people from all walks of life work together. The project encourages social inclusion and is targeted at those who wouldn’t normally get involved in growing food or face barriers as a result of physical or mental health conditions, learning disabilities or simple isolation. However, everyone is welcome to take part in growing/gardening, learning and developing hands on skills as the key focus is to teach basic gardening
skills. No tools, skills, or experience are necessary.

“It’s a significant challenge but the community spirit it is creating is great. It’s brilliant to keep meeting others at the allotment to share a few hours of gardening work, combined with moments of fun and a sense of achievement.” Chris Hockley, volunteer

Whether you are completely new to allotment gardening or just want to increase your knowledge and skills, Karen Heynike would like to hear from you.
