Our Community Allotment Volunteers Working on Super Mosaic Project

We created a Community Allotment, in partnership with PA Housing, at our Terrace Road allotment site in April 2016  Work started in April 2016. The project particularly targets those who would not normally get involved in growing food, gardening and learning.  We aim to increase the participants’ knowledge and develop their hands on skills. Although the key focus of the project is around learning basic horticultural skills, the project aims to target those who might face barriers such as mental health issues, disabilities, isolation  or those in poverty.

Our Community Allotment volunteers love creative projects and these have been highly successful.  Last year we did a hugely successful carving project with the artist, Ruth Wheeler.

Our volunteers are currently participating in a mosaic project and are in the process of creating a mosaic tile board, which will be installed at the Community Allotment project.  The project is lead by a PA Housing tenant who is a qualified mosaic artist and the project has been part funded by EBC’s Development Fund and RC Sherriff.
