Walton Charity greatly appreciates and values the time and skills contributed by volunteers.
Weeding, planting, sowing, painting, fixing - just a few of the many jobs that corporate volunteers have tackled for us this year. Our local companies and organisations recognise the value of giving something back to the community by getting teams out of the workplace. We are incredibly grateful to these organisations for their time and support.
We also welcome the Community Service Team and individuals.
During 2018/19, 459 hours of corporate volunteering was given by 121 people.
We provide low cost, quality allotments to enable local people to grow fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers and join the wonderful community spirit within one of our four allotment sites.
Our thanks to Alexia who volunteered with us as part of her Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. She did an amazing job, repainting the wire mesh metal gates - a time consuming labour of love! The tenants are delighted with the newly painted and oiled gates.
Our thanks to JTI’s R&D volunteering team. The 17 strong team did the most amazing clearance work at our
Burhill allotment site in Walton, filling two skips loads of rubbish.
Many thanks to the BP’s team of 32 volunteers who came to our Mayfield sheltered housing on 4th October and cleared overgrown areas of the gardens. They made a huge difference.
