The Bridge @ Church Farm is a community hub supporting working families from across Elmbridge, or who have links to Elmbridge, who are struggling financially but cannot access, or receive limited, government (or other) support.

The Bridge is open to working families (with children under 18) who are struggling financially but cannot access government (or other) support.

It is also open to families who are going through a change in their financial circumstances (eg, just lost a job) and are waiting to receive government support.

Families must also be based within Elmbridge. It’s not aimed at single people or couples.

You can find The Bridge @ Church Farm in Burhill Road, Hersham KT12 4BJ, opposite the entrance to Woodlark Nurseries.

The Bridge is open on Tuesdays 1.30-4pm, Wednesdays 10am-12.30pm and 4pm-6pm, and Thursdays 10am-12.30pm. Please note that initial sessions require a referral, and you can self-refer at the bottom of this page.

There is also meeting space available for local charities and community organisations to run workshops, meetings or one-to-one support sessions. Please email bridge@waltoncharity.org.uk to enquire.

At The Bridge, families can pick-up fresh, frozen and cupboard food and household supplies at low cost, freeing up money for other family essentials like utility bills and school uniform.

Members will pay just £10 each time they visit, and in return can access food worth far, far more - saving at least £30 a week.

There is always a wide selection, including fresh, frozen and long-life options, fruit and veg, family favourites and non-food essentials.

Members will also have access to specialist advice services.

The Bridge is not an emergency service. If a family needs food in an emergency they should be referred to the foodbank through the usual referral system.

Unlike our local foodbanks who provide emergency food for people in crisis, The Bridge offers longer-term support for working families who are struggling with rising living costs but have limited support available to them.

The Pantry @ The Bridge is one of 120 Pantries all over the UK. Pantries bring people together around food, soften the impact of high living costs, reduce shopping bills and give people some much-needed financial wriggle room. They’re also places for local people to meet and chat, lighten the load together, and share ideas that can start making change happen.
